Brigitte Gabriel has made it her life's mission to warn the American people about the real Islam. She is no fanatic herself: she lived for all of her early childhood and early adulthood in the midst of war, and tells the story of day to day terror under Islamic oppression, as a Lebanese Christian. When she saw Isreal for the first time, during a brief journey over the border, she was astounded by the freedom of a truly western society. She resolved to end up there, and tell the truth about life inside Lebanon.
The first part of Ms. Gabriel's book is autobiographical; it makes clear the shaping of her convictions. It tells of the years in Lebanon, frequently living in hiding from bombs, and the effect of those years on her family and her own upbringing. The latter part of the book summarizes her views on the reality of the Islamic faith and the conviction of those who follow it to wage jihad until the world bows to Islamic law and government. She warns of the future of America if we don't wake up.
Ms. Gabriel is herself living in the U.S. She is well-educated and has worked as a journalist. She speaks eloquently and passionately. This book is eye-opening, and an education on the inside politics of the Middle East, from beginning to end.
