Now this is food for thought! Honest Reporting today released its Dishonest Reporting Awards for 2006, in such diverse categories as worst US reporting, worst international reporting, worst incidence of lying, worst incidence of creating photos, etc. See awards HERE. (Scroll down the page to see all the awards.)

They add extensive commentary on the "winner's" work in each category. This adds up to an eye-opening and often hilarious example of the lows to which the media has stooped in the past year. Some category examples are Most Consistently Manufactured News Event, Worst Caption, Worst Use of Props, and Canard of the Year

Do you agree with their choices? Or do you remember a better choice for a given category, from the year's. . .er. . . more inventive reporters? Thank goodness we have these people to keep us well-informed about our world!
